Pirates of the Carribean

Did you like the Pirates of the Carribean movies? Well, have a listen to the Brooklyn Boroughwide Middle School Symphony Orchestra playing the theme to the first movie. All of the musicians are Brooklyn students in 6th through 8th grade.

Many of these students performed at Carnegie Hall this year, a dream of many professional musicians.

They sound great! That was an unusual musical choice for an orchestra and here's another one.

After you listen to both, answer these questions in the comments section.

Tell me what you liked and didn't like about the video clips. Did you expect to hear the music that was played by both orchestras? Have you seen or heard an unusual use of an orchestra? If you can, send me a link to the video and once I approve it, we'll post it for everyone.
